Is Government Too Big, Bossy, Costly, Nosy and Powerful?
Some civil rights groups and government watch dog groups claim that the United States government is getting to be too big and costly. Many liken it to a giant blob of bureaucracy and that is truly unfortunate. Many people do not like the idea of their government being too nosy or snooping around in their personal affairs. Yet at the same time our citizens wish to be protected from international terrorists. Is the government too big and powerful or is it using its strength wisely to protect the American people? Then of course is that old saying; if you give up liberty for security, you will end up with neither. Indeed, that does make a lot of sense from a historical perspective and yet at the same time we demand of our government to protect us. Our government’s number one job is to protect the American people and we as Americans are lucky to live in the greatest single civilization ever created in all the known history of mankind.
