Is Government and Politics considered a weak A level?
It would depend on just exactly what you wanted to do as a career. I think there is a lot of misconceptions surrounding what exactly constitutes a ”soft subject”. A ”soft subject” is a subject that is deliberately taken by a great number of students subject to give the impression at prima facie that they are ”intelligent’ by getting an A/B grade at A Level. For instance, many students decide to pick Media Studies as an A-Level because it is relatively easy to pass. This makes Media Studies, in general, a soft subject. It is very rare to hear of a student speaking of enlisting on a A-Level Mathematics or Physics course in the hopes of getting an ”easy way out”. That means that these subjects can be considered ”hard”. Although a subject can be seen as a soft, that does not mean you should not pick it. Government & Politics may be a beneficial subject for you to pick if you are studying, say, Economic History or Politics at University. It will not be truly beneficial for studying
