Is Gordon Brown (and his government) a Scottish 5th colum?

Stop your ranting and I suggest you do a little research before making incredibly foolish statements. As has already been said Gordon Brown has only ‘surrounded’ himself with 4 other Scots out of 28 people in his cabinet. Now if you want to call that tribalism that’s up to you, I prefer to call it ‘British’ democracy as after all, for the time being we do still live in Britain. If you lived in Scotland you would have a different perspective as many Scottish people see Gordon Brown and his cabinet as opposed to our best interests, instead only concerning themselves with the interests of the New Labour Party and their ideals. That’s why we voted for a parliament of our own and that’s why we have kicked out New Labour from government and replaced them with the SNP who, at the moment, have Scottish interests at heart. England is hardly weak, crippled or damaged, I do however think it is suffering from identity crisis and clearly blames everybody else for that whether it be the Scots, immig

Out of 28 members of Gordon Brown’s cabinet, only four are Scottish including Brown himself. The others are:- Alistair Darling (Chancellor of the Exchequer) Des Browne (Secretary of State for Defence) Douglas Alexander (Secretary of State for International Development). That is hardly what you could call a government “packed” with Scots. Since the SNP administration took power as Scotland’s devolved government last year, the New Labour administration at Westminster have gone out of their way to be as unfavourable to Scotland as possible. The current batch of Scots in the UK government (few as they are), seem more biased against the people of Scotland than most English ministers. It seems to me that you are the one who is encouraging “tribalism”, by asking such an ill-informed question with the specific intention of stirring up bad feeling against the people of Scotland.
