Of course, any mutt is possible, but the female better be the retriever, or you’re asking for complications when pregnant and giving birth. And they’re mutts. They may grow as big as a standard retriever, they may be as small as a Pekingese, or anything in between- mutts are unpredictable, not only in looks but in proneness to certain diseases and problems. You’ve also got to look at the breeds of the parents of the parents- the original heritage may not be pure breed, so if there’s another breed in the mum or dad, that can influence the puppies as well. And no, before you ask, the pups aren’t worth ANYTHING, and don’t deserve a cute name. They will be mutts, and mutts can make fine dogs, but there is enough mutts in this world without planning more ‘designer’ type dogs.
