Is going to the gym everyday more effective than working out every other day?

First up, everyone is different, what may work for your friends won’t necessarily work for you. If your trying to increase your body mass, then lifting weights will definitely help, however you need a set routine and this involves rest days because your muscles need time to repair themselves after a workout. After a heavy weights session, I’m sure you’ll find your aching the next day anyway, but this is generally a good sign & you should allow that muscle group at least one or two days to recover. I’ve been training since I was 16 & used various workout programs set out in magazines, but the one I’ve found most effective for myself to maintain muscle mass and stay fit is: Monday: Back & Shoulders Tuesday: Fitness Wednesday: Legs Thursday: REST Friday: Chest & Arms Saturday: Fitness Sunday: REST Remember though, results don’t come over night. The key to success in Weight Training is finding what works for you, once you’ve found a routine that’s showing promise, then stick to it.
