Is globalization causing a deterioration of bill of rights freedoms in America?
you are headed to a cocoon. When you reference to a America I believe you are meaning US. In general I really don’t see that much of correlation between globalization and free society establishment unless there is a mercantile protection system that is based on handling social issues. If this is the case then US is headed to same direction as the CCCP was going regardless of being ‘free’. US is somewhat a victim of it’s own success. As the CCCP went bankrupt and the Internet started to grow, US fell in to a comfortably numb state of being a single hegemony in the world. Now US is a ship in the middle of ocean without propulsion. As US has lost it’s own big project, there is no big goal for which to fight and sacrifice. This forces a fight from within to emerge and so we have a cocoon that trie
If you wish to see a country that has all of its traditional isolationist principles intact, then look at Russia. If you would like to live in a similar economy then go ahead and move there. I believe the rest of us in North America prefer to adapt to the new way of the world and overcome the obstacles. Globalization is not going away anytime soon. As for globalization eroding the bill of rights, I think you’re sorely mistaken there. The two are not related in any way whatsoever. The bill of rights provides basic freedoms for all citizens, it says nothing about sick time or overtime. The bill of rights is still in place, however you are right that some developments have led to certain changes in the privacy of criminals etc. These developments are terrorism related, not globalization related. If you think that globalization and terrorism are related, well that’s a whole new discussion. Terrorists are religious extremists bent on dominating the world. Unless you are willing to see the U
