Is ginkgo biloba, DHEA, and acetyl-L-carnitine effective in stimulating cognitive abilities?
Ginkgo biloba may help a little, but I don’t think the others are very useful. I’ve tried ginkgo, and I don’t think it helped me, but some research indicates it may help others improve brain function and memory. I find DHA(not DHEA) and fish oil supplements helpful for brain function. My thinking is more sharp when I take fish oil which is rich in essential omega 3’s(brain-building fat), and I am less prone to headaches. I don’t think young people need or benefit from DHEA(not DHA), and some people should be careful with it. Some people confuse DHA and DHEA, they are completely different.
