Is getting snake-bite piercings more painful then getting a labret piercing?
The labret is definitely not the most painful area to be pierced. Neither piercing should be too painful because there isn’t much muscle in the bottom lip. If anything, I would say that getting snakebites would be more painful, since you have to go through the pain of piercing twice in one shot. Before your piercing, the piercer will numb the area with some type of lidocaine to help with pain. I also suggest taking ibuprofen about a half hour before you get pierced to help with pain and swelling. Always make sure that the piercer is using sterile tools and studs. If they don’t come in some kind of sterile packaging, don’t feel embarrassed or hesitate to ask how the utensils are cleaned. It will hurt a lot more if you get an infection due to unsanitary tools. Personally, the piercing itself didn’t hurt so much. The clamp they put on your lip beforehand hurts more than the piercing, don’t worry too much. Afterwards, make sure you keep your piercing clean, and don’t turn it like you would
