Is getting a pedicure safe and sanitary?

A pedicure at ZEN is most definitely so. We not only follow the Texas Cosmetology guidelines, we exceed them and define additional protocols to ensure safety. In developing ZEN we worked with infectious disease physicians to plan and design our facilities to ensure the most safe and sanitary operations. As a result, all our pedicure bowls do not use pipes or jets for circulation. Our custom pedicure bowls are sealed stone vessels that ward against bacterial growth. All our tools and instruments used are cleaned then sterilized each and every time with an FDA approved autoclave. Typically used in hospitals to sterilize medical instruments, this device operates by heating each tool to 250F and higher. Autoclave sterilization is the only way to eradicate almost all pathogens and bacterial strains.
