Is getting a one-year Masters in the UK equivalent to getting a two-year Masters from a U.S institution?
Yes. The one-year program in the UK is a longer academic year (nearly the full 12 months) than an academic year in the US, with the long summer break. Therefore, more material is condensed into a shorter time period so that you can complete the same qualification more quickly. Keep in mind this will keep you very busy, but the benefit is you only have to pay for one year’s worth of tuition and living expenses, which can work out to be cheaper than two-year degree’s worth of expenses.
