Is George Strait just another over glorified karaoke singer who can write his own songs?
No. As long as an artist has a good voice and chooses good songs or, in Strait’s case, great songs, then it’s alright if they don’t write their own material. Honestly, I do prefer when artists write their own songs, such as Alan Jackson (GOOD TIME was one hell of an album, with every song written by Jackson himself), but I can still respect certain artists who don’t write their own stuff. Of course, there are a number of artists who write their own songs who I don’t respect…such as Taylor Swift. Well, I can respect the fact that she actually writers her own songs, but she’s just not country and her voice isn’t even good at all (no offense to any Swift fans who may come across this question…I doubt many will though, since it’s about an actual country artist).
