Is geography an important subject?
I hate Geography too, so I feel your pain. I’m fourteen, and in Pre-IB, and Geography has to be my most hated subject. It won’t affect your career or limit your choices of universities, if you misbehave or whatever in Geo, but it will obviously affect your mark in the class. Sometimes, other opportunities come up, not necessarily related to University or anything, but other opportunities to do some pretty wicked stuff, and you need a certain GPA to do it. If your Geo mark’s low enough to bring down your GPA, then it could cost you. Geo’s really not that hard. It’s just boring as hell. It’s better to put in the little work required and actually get a good mark then bomb the course because you feel like it. But your question was, ‘is it an important subject?’ Personally, I find it pointless, mostly because like you, I’m NEVER going to go into a Geography-related career.
