Is Genetically Modified Food Safe?
Food, whether produced by conventional means or through genetic modification, is never guaranteed to be completely safe. Just as with conventionally produced food, genetically produced food can become unsafe due to improper handling or storage, environmental contamination, and spoilage. It is foolish to conclude that all genetically modified food is absolutely safe, but it is even more foolish to conclude that food is unsafe just because it is genetically modified. It is hard to make general statements about the safety of GM foods because they are created in many different ways and using many different methods.
