Is Gaviscon® safe for use during nursing/lactation?
Many doctors recommend Gaviscon® because it provides long-lasting relief and because it’s mode of action is non-systemic, which mean it works in your stomach not in your blood stream. There have been no reported adverse effects on fetal development from the active ingredients in Gaviscon®, which is alginate compounds, however if you are nursing you should always check with your doctor before you take any kind of medication.
