Home improvement projects – which could include installing a garden pond – should take precedence over holidays, it has been argued.Installing garden ponds could be more important than going on holiday, The National Home Improvement Council’s director Andrew Leech has argued that home improvements should take precedence over vacations, suggesting that going away while DIY needs to be carried out is a “negative approach”. He said that those who are focusing on improving their living space are concentrating on their gardens, with jobs such as laying down decking or improving patios proving popular. “People are looking forward to a nice summer and are not concentrating so much on what needs to be done inside the house,” Mr Leech remarked.
