Is Gagetown our own Brigadoon?
Gagetown reminds me somewhat of the experience of Gene Kelly in the movie Brigadoon. In the movie, Brigadoon was like a dream: a place where refreshment and renewal is found in the simplicity of the people. Gagetown is a lively example of such a place. The people in Gagetown know how to sit at the feet of the world they live in and cherish the art of their unique caring lifestyle and their landscape as a distinctive work of great beauty meant to be a link between neighbors. Imagine having the people of Gagetown needing to fight in the political arena for a ferry that unconditionally connects neighbour to neighbour! Perhaps those in Fredericton who made it possible for the city to be identified among the most intelligent cities of the world, could meet with Transportation Minister Denis Landry and the Mayor of Gagetown.
