Is funding available to improve water use efficiency?
Caring for our Country will not invest in activities that are more appropriately the focus of the Australian Government’s $12.9 billion Water for the Future- a 10 year plan to secure long-term water supply for all Australians. Water for the Future is focused on achieving water efficiencies and savings, secure water supplies and buying back water entitlements in the Murray-Darling Basin. These activities are not eligible for funding under Caring for our Country. We will however continue to invest in actions to improve water quality and which meet targets under the Caring for our Country initiative.
