Is function point software available?
There are many general purpose software products, like Microsoft Excel, that can be useful to the function point practitioner. These are not discussed here. Likewise, every producer of estimating and project management software is willing to sell their product to function point users, but there products are not listed here. The products that follow are primarily function point applications that have enjoyed some level of usage in the function point community: • There are only two IFPUG certified function point repository packages. Productivity Manager For Windows is the first. It was developed by Productivity Management Group, Inc. They can be reached at (716) 633-0621 • S.M.A.R.T. Counter is the second certified package. It was developed by DDB Software, Inc. They also offer a project estimating tool called Predictor, and a defect tracking tool called Tracker. Future plans include linking these packages to ISPC, an industry benchmarking data base.
