Is fresh pineapple safe for cockatiels?

Yes, but just in small portions and only a few times a week. You can also feed other fruits and veggies. Feeding fruits and veggies (especially fruit) can cause loose stools in many birds. This is not really diarrhea, though. They may become loose looking because of the water content in some of the fruit and veggies. To add to the above list of “don’t gives”..don’t let them have apple seeds, peach seeds or nectarine seeds. They are poisonous. Apple seeds contain arsenic as do the others.Your bird can also eat meat, fish and chicken as long as there is no added salt. Too many nuts are not healthy, only a few. The same with sunflower seeds. A pelleted diet is actually best. Nuts and sunflower seeds have a lot of fat, and cockatiels do not require a lot of fat in the diet like some other birds do.
