I don’t think that is necessarily the case. The Little Albert experiment utilized more than just bunnies for the conditioning. I think there may be more of a connection between the bunny in Donnie Darko and the rabbit in the book Alice in Wonderland. Of course, without actual input from the author of the screenplay, it would be hard to prove either way.
