Is Forsyth Country Day School considering the addition of on-campus housing?
We talked about offering a boarding component early in the planning stages of the MAP program (back before it was even called the MAP program, and before we had performed in-depth research into the market of students with learning differences in the Triad). At that point, we thought that a residential component might be necessary to fill our roster, but we have quickly learned that there are many, many students in our area who need the type of program we provide through MAP. MAP reached capacity early in November 2006, and now has a waiting list for the 2007-2008 school year. As our school continues to grow and we continue to develop new programs, it’s possible that on-campus housing would be a viable option at some point far in the future, but we have no immediate plans to provide a boarding program on the FCDS campus. If you would like to discuss this issue in greater depth, Chuck Jones, our Provost and Middle School Director, would be a great person to contact. He can be reached at
