Answer: Many of us in this group, I think, tend to prefer the low-carb approach. However, it’s good to keep in mind that there are really two different approaches to the ADA diabetic diet. Both approaches begin with the fact that carbs raised BGs. Then they diverge in different directions. The American Diabetes Association, the official mainstream diabetes organization, promotes a relatively high carb diet. They look at the world this way. Carbs are necessary nutrients.
