Is flaxseed oil the same as neems seed oil?
They are not the same, sorry. They are completely different plants and unfortunately Flax (Linum usitatissium), or linseed, does not have the same properties as Neem (Azadirachta indica) at all. Flax (seed) oil is taken internally very safely and pure neem (seed) oil is not as safe internally, although the plant itself has many medicinal uses. I think the pure oil is harder to find unless you live in India or a big city and you may have to find it online and get it it speed shipped as Im sure the lice is terribly irritating. Does it work for ridding headlice I dont know! I think you would still need a comb for all the nits and a follow up treatment. I know the prescription Kwell (Lindane) is highly toxic and I would rather try something natural. Permethrin is over the counter in several brands and is much safer, chrysanthemum derived, though not totally natural. I know that thyme (essential) oil mixed with apple cider vinegar and water is claimed to be effective by respected herbalist
