Is finding a job nowadays like finding a pot of gold?
Jobs are hard to find but the older adults who are educated and experienced are having problems too. When an adult has been working for 2-3 times the money before then needs a survival job places won’t hire them. They know as soon as they get a career job offer they will quit and when there won’t strive to do a great job. You need to show them you are a clean cut, fresh faced, willing worker who will think this job is the best thing ever. One problem they will have with you is you will quit when school starts so something like a clothing store will need to replace you before Christmas shopping. To stand out from the youngsters you will need to show them you are going to be a hard worker, on time, no bad attitude without actually saying it. More mature manners, dressing correctly for interviews, sending the thank you note if you get an interview, speaking in non slang will show you respect the job.
