Is films are corrupting indian youth?
Because of the great interest people take in viewing films, it is generally thought that the films have a great ‘influence’ on viewers as well. But the stressed life style of this age, makes one spend time in some light entertainment (but many films are far from providing ‘light’ entertainment, throwing an overdose of thrill and violence). Though films, neighbourhood and peer influence do have much impact on behaviour pattern of people, the mass media in general, as pointed out by Poondi above, as well as the greater western influence arising out of people going abroad in larger numbers as well as increasing spread of western media, with all the ‘liberal’ values unknown to our society, had cast a great influence on all strata of Indian society.
