Hm, yeah, but aren’t all of the managers a bit hypocritical and arrogant? I think it’s just part of the job to have selective logic and reasoning… It’s not the first time Ferguson’s done it, his “I wouldn’t sell a virus to them” line, when referring to Real Madrid, went down a treat with the fans until he packed Ronaldo’s bags and swapped him for a £80 million cheque with a RM logo stamped on it. And only the other week he declared United’s spending was over, then promptly bought Mame Biram Diouf from Molde… In that article you linked to, Ferguson is quoted as saying (when talking about City): “You have to understand, when they get their moment to grasp for and to seize for, they are going to take it.” That pretty much sums up the mentality within football – grasp it, seize it no matter what, and sod the other clubs. They all do it, and Ferguson is acknowledging it… though he’ll never admit to doing it himself. None of them will.
