Is fancy feast canned food a ok food for my kitten?
Fancy Feast canned is ok, but that’s it – ok. The Special Kitty is just plain garbage food, and it would be best to just dispose of it when mom’s not looking. California Natural is a fine food and suitable for cats and kittens. You’ll be better off getting your kitten used to an all-canned diet, as it’s really the best thing for her. Cats were meant to derive their moisture from their food, and don’t drink much. Dry foods keep cats in a perpetually dehydrated state, and contribute to urinary tract disorders, crystals in the urine, and kidney compromise. The carbohydrates in dry food (even a great food like CA Natural) contribute to diabetes in cats. Canned food is a much more “natural” diet for cats. Small amounts of chicken give as a treat will be fine for your kitten – after all, cat food is *made* from chicken. Avoid too much tuna though, other than a few bites as fish is often not the best thing to feed cats.
