Is “Family Tree Maker” a good choice for genealogy software?
Family tree make. now in it’s 16th edition is by far the best ancestry program out there. It’s easy to use, has ton of features, and is upgradeable and expandable. 16 is like a miniture publishing unit. It lets you create a pretty impressive family history book that you can print yourself or put on CD and have printed prfessionally. It’s a pretty good deal for 39.99. In it you get 1 month of ancestry.com free.Also not a bad deal. You do need a credit card, debit cards from your checking account will work too, and after the month is up they will automatically start billing you a monthly subscription fee. To get around the credit card issue you can get a prepaid visa through companies like green dot and then you wont have to use your bankning info over the internet.
