Is Faith a Universal Principle or Law?
Referring to faith as a universal principle, means that it is a basic truth or law, like the law of Gravity or also the so-called laws of nature. Before beginning the examination of faith, there are some words that must be defined such as truth, law, and principle, so that one can obtain a perfect understanding of the principle of faith free from superstitions, myths, customs, and traditions. “Law” is: “A formulation or generalization based on observed phenomena.” “Truth” is: “1. Conformity to knowledge, fact, or actuality; veracity…3. Reality; actuality. 4. A statement proven to be or accepted as true.” “Principle” is defined as: “1. A basic truth, law, or assumption ….4. A rule or law concerning the functioning of natural phenomena or mechanical processes. 5. A basic source (Webster’s New World Dictionary).” From these definitions one can see that faith is a law or principle and truth. Its effects and results are based upon observed manifestations and phenomena that conform to ac
