Is Eye Dew the most effective eye whitening drops?
You should NOT use ‘eye whitening’ drops for ANYTHING but a once a year family photo. They’re dangerous for two reasons: -First, all I’ve encountered, including the ever popular ‘visine’ are preserved with BAK. BAK is essentially toxic to corneas and disrupts your tear film- making you dependent on more drops more often with less relief. -Second, they’re all ‘vasoconstrictors’- what this means is, yes, you achieve temporary whiteness. But when you keep using them, you experience a funny syndrome called ‘rebound’ redness- the drops make your eyes red, you use more drops, gain temporary relief and get more red, use more drops, so on and so forth. Simply put: if you have any reason you need to be using ‘get the red out’ type drops, see a doctor. Don’t mess around with dangerous OTC products.
