Is every Crime Stoppers reward $1,000?
No, unfortunately we cannot pay $1,000 for everything. Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of UP TO $1,000. The reward is figured on a numeric scale. Certain crimes are given a number with the less serious low and more violent, serious high. There is also a number value given to how much property is recovered and another on how much drugs are confiscated. Another number value is given for the number of people arrested and another for the number of offenses cleared. All of these number values are added up to get a total. Another scale equates t he total to a range of money, such as: 3.5.-3.9 equals $450-$545. If the information given falls within this total range, the Crime Stoppers Coordinator makes a recommendation to the Board of Directors to pay a reward amount with this range. The Board of Directors may accept the recommendation, deny it, or raise or lower the reward amount.
