Is Enteric Coating Really a Good Option?
Did you know that enteric fish oil is not any better than regular fish oil? Often, enteric fish oil supplements are more expensive than regular omega-3 fatty acid products. The benefits of using enteric fish oil have not been proven by any clinical trials or scientific studies. Many say that it is better because the enteric coating ensures that your stomach acid does not destroy the omega-3 fatty acids. But you do not have to worry about the omega-3 fatty acids being destroyed, because studies have shown that there are no significant differences in enteric coated supplements compared to regular ones. The only big difference, according to my experience is cost. The companies that sell enteric supplements always want to say that they are the best, but you have to be willing to look for proof and scientific evidence of if they are telling the truth.
