Legitimate agencies do not charge you deposits, and you don’t pay £400 upfront for a portfolio. You never pay your agency for portfolio shots – if they set up test shoots with photographers, you always pay the photographer directly. And it’s normally £100-150 for each test shoot. A portfolio is never shot in a day and you should never have more than 2-3 photos from the same shoot in your book. Also, there is no such thing as a registration fee for a legitimate agency. Agencies like FM, Storm, Models 1, Select don’t charge you anything out of pocket. They only make money AFTER they book you on a job and take their commission.
