Is English the worlds easiest language to learn?
English isn’t the easiest language to learn, even at first, but it is easier than most people realize. Its grammar is relatively simple. For example, most verbs have a very simple conjugation: I have you have he, she, it has we have you have they have You can see that ‘have’ and ‘has’ cover all your bases, as long as you’re using the present indicative tense. On the other hand, the spelling is difficult. Sets of words like they’re, their, and there are confusing for second-language learners. English is easier to read and sound out, however, than it is to spell. The absolute easiest language is probably Interlingua. Castellina found that people learned this language so well in six days that they were writing texts in it. The average is actually fifteen days for English speakers, but that’s still very fast.
