English is most certainly *NOT* the most precise language. Try Russian! Where in English, you say “I am going to the store”, a Russian phrase (with LESS words!) can express that “I am currently traveling by automobile, to the store, with the intention of returning soon.” Now that’s precise. No, English is definitely not the perfect language. In fact, it’s rather horrible. Every rule has a million exceptions. Nothing is standard. Spelling is so bad that even native English speakers can’t spell their own words… and there is no hope of knowing how to pronounce an English word based solely on the way it is written. No… what makes English so popular is that it is so simple to learn. Where other languages have six (or more) different endings for every verb, English has two. And where other languages have even more new endings for different tenses, English just adds a word to the front. In Spanish, “yo voy, tu vas, el va, nosotros vamos, vosotros vais, ellos van”… But in English “I go,
