English 1000 is considered the foundational Writing Intensive (WI) course, which everyone at MU must complete with at least a C-. Beyond English 1000, all students must complete at least two courses designated WI. One of these must be in the student’s major. Both WI courses also require grades of at least C-. Students cannot get WI credit for a course until after English 1000 is completed; i.e., you cannot take English 1000 and a WI course concurrently and get WI credit for the other course.
