Hard to know for sure, but the evidence suggests yes, it is convergence. Pelycosaurs – which led to mammals were not endothermic. Some dinosaurs may have been, but the more primitive ones were certainly not. you will remember from lecture that pelycosaurs split off from the reptile lineage well before the dinos split off (if this is correct, it suggests convergence).
