Is Emu Oil a liquid or a solid?
Emu Oil is liquid and translucent when warm but solid and opaque when cold. Some available Emu Oil always remains more solid regardless of the temperature. There are two possible reasons for this. Firstly the oil may have had beeswax added to it, to “set” it and help prevent it melting. Secondly the Emu Oil may have had some of its more liquid fraction removed (see the FAQ about “triple refined Emu Oil for more information). Some Emu Oil is clearer and remains liquid, even in low temperatures. There are also two possibilities for this. Firstly the Emu Oil may have had another oil added to it, such as Almond or Jojoba to keep it liquid. Secondly it may have had its more solid or stearic fraction removed.
