With new funding from the state Legislature, Employment Security launched its first anti-fraud program targeting employers in July 2006. In the first three years since the program was launched in July 2006, Employment Security’s Underground Economy Unit recovered nearly $3.6 million in unpaid taxes and about $1.2 million in interest and penalties.
