Is email about Belk bathroom incident a hoax?
Updated: 12/4 A lot of you have seen or heard about the email– a warning about an incident inside Valley View Mall. The woman who wrote the email says it’s absolutely true. She called News-7 Thursday morning. The email’s been circulating for a few days. It’s from a woman who says she narrowly escaped an attack inside a Belk restroom. The woman who wrote the email lives out of town and was visiting family last week when it happened. She did not want to be recorded or have her name used for this story. She did say she reported the incident to mall security when it happened and has since spoken to Roanoke police. Yesterday, police confirmed to News-7 that they were investigating, but they had not determined if the email was true. The woman who wrote the email said she “had no clue it would snowball.” She said she intended it to be a warning to her family and a few friends.
