Is Either Party Minding The Immigration Store?
By Donald A. Collins This Bush Administration has no credibility left on any issue, particularly immigration reform, with any one from either party who can read and listen to the mass media. OK, I admit to being a Democrat. And of course my party is actually worse on immigration reform than the Republicansmore on that in a moment. Perfect example of the vast credibility gap: Page one Washington Post, top right column, on June 19th featured a story titled “Illegal Hiring is Rarely Penalized”. (By Spencer S. It begins by noting, “The Bush administration, which is vowing to crack down on U.S. companies that hire illegal workers, virtually abandoned such employer sanctions before it began pushing to overhaul U.S. immigration laws last year, government statistics show.
