Is Edgemont going to secede from Greenburgh?
EVEC is exploring the possibility of incorporating Edgemont as a village. Incorporation is making a new village WITHIN the town of Greenburgh, this is an action permitted by the State of New York for areas such as Edgemont. Secession would entail making a municipality separate from Greenburgh like Scarsdale. The state of New York would not allow Edgemont to secede on its own, because its population and land area is too small to be a Town.
