Potentially it is both. EcoLogic Spray Foam will chars, but does not support self-sustained combustion and will extinguish once an external flame source is removed. Once it is cured, EcoLogic Spray Foam does not return to its liquid state making this product a great fire barrier. However, the super-insulating properties of EcoLogic Spray Foam, also makes it a fire hazard. For this reason, a code-approved fire barrier such as 5/8″ inch drywall must be installed over EcoLogic Spray Foam in living spaces.
