Dust only comes into play when the product is installed in blanket fashion on the floor of the attic. Ideally, dust should be removed periodically for the product to maintain its original effectiveness. Studies have shown that moderate dust levels have very little effect on reflectivity or radiant barriers. Installations with the product on the roof deck, or beneath roof rafters, are not subject to dust accumulation and require no maintenance.
