Is DTG digital garment printing FASTER than Screen Printing?
• DTG kiosk can print as fast as 20 seconds to 220 seconds per print depending on the size and the resolution of the design. One aspect to consider is that in screen printing you have to assemble square wooden frame, print film positives, expose/washout/dry/tape and block out screens, set-up, print, de-ink the screens, tear down the press and reclaim the screens using chemicals. On average, it takes about 60 minutes per color in a screen printed design to get it burned, setup, registered and torn down. On an 8 color screen print this means you have at least 8 hours just in preparation not including printing time – if not longer. With a digital garment printer you could have already been printing for those 8 hours and making money.
