Is DS popular in the Latino community?
The Latino community does do quite a bit of DS play although it isn’t talked about openly. I think that it is just as common in the Latino community as in the general American community , we just don’t call it that. We call it “marriage.” Ha ha ha! In the workshop, I talk about how DS is already in your life. Have you ever given a boyfriend a hickey? If you have, that’s part of DS, because you’re claiming your property. Have you ever spanked your boyfriend or girlfriend? Or has your partner said to you “If you do that again I’ll spank your butt!” and you stick your butt out? That’s playful, playing with dominance. Have you ever wanted to be a little more forceful? That’s sadomasoquismo in a very light form.
