Is drinking a major part of the Dartmouth experience?
Dartmouth is just like any other college in the United States when it comes to drinking. While it is certainly present among the undergraduates, by no means is it a crucial part of the Dartmouth experience. Every student has the choice to consume alcohol, and the choice of staying sober does not exclude any student from participating in any social activities (with the exception of wine-tasting courses perhaps), Greek-related or otherwise. The college is conscious of the underage drinking that goes on on-campus and has a strict policy regarding the consumption of alcohol by underage students. It also has programs and policies in place to assist people with drinking problems in order to help them recover from their illness.
