Is DPI resolution (dots-per-inch) the only measure of image quality?

The DPI resolution metric is a legacy measure of image quality but it’s just one of many elements. Kodak has color scanners that deliver up to 300 dpi color output. But the full story on color image quality comes from the entire imaging chain inside the scanner. Kodak is the only scanner vendor that controls the many variables within the imaging chain, including optics, integrated illumination, CCD sensors, and image processing.
