I have been taking doxylamine succinate daily for a sleep problem. I was told that it is a safe and effective OTC medication. My recent labs revealed impaired renal function. Prior to taking this medication, my labs were normal. I don’t drink alcohol, but I have gained 25lbs since I started taking this medication. I’m about 30lbs overweight. I believe that this medication may be safe for occasional or short term use, but not long term. I feel that my HTN, elevated liver functions, and renal problems are directly related to Nyquil, and Simply Sleep use.
