Is downloading music immoral unethical and should it be illegal?
Downloading commercial music is neither immoral nor unethical if it is via a peer-to-peer network rather than a central repository. It’s just “sharing”. And there is no point in a law, regardless of jurisdiction, if it is unenforceable. But there is quite a difference between downloading a piece of music in digital format that is infinitely and perfectly reproducible and listening to the same music once or twice on the radio.
